After a few paragraphs, I was spellbound and submersed into Regency England. It was an angst-fest with emotional locomotion.
But in the second half, it became a lot more sexual and predictable. It’d have been more believable if they were of near equal looks or if there’d been some heat between them before the music room scene.
It seemed unnecessary and a bit incongruous with the tone of the novel before that.
Creased spine; pages lightly toned; a good solid book. He starts seeing her as a woman, and he starts falling in love with this woman. He “falls in love” with Jane after she becomes unavailable, after he sees her tender affection toward his beloved daughters.
